WELCOME

Welcome to our Gardening Club Rhydlewis and District Gardening Club has been around since the time of Adam and Eve. In fact, it is believed that one of our members planted and tended the very apple tree that gave rise to the pair being expelled from the garden!!

Whether this urban myth is true or not, the club is here to encourage, improve and extend the members' knowledge of all branches of horticulture. It is open to everyone and new members are all always welcome to come along.

Our activities during the year include a varied programme of talks and social events, summer garden visits, a plant sale, social gatherings/bbq and an annual open show in August.

Spring Roundup of our Gardening Club; what we've been doing and what is on next

RHYDLEWIS & DISTRICT GARDENING CLUB CLUB

GARDDIO RHYDLEWIS A’R CYLCH

Presents:

RICHARD BRAMLEY

Your Pond: building, planting and maintaining

Tuesday May 26th  7.30pm

Rhydlewis Village Hall

Spring is the season of planting and tending in the garden, and it looks as if it will be a good year for a lot of flowers and vegetables. The threes are full of blossom and we've already had sunshiny weather, warm enough for picnics!

We've had two very well received talks, the first from permaculturist Andrea Saunders, who focused on her work with the Lampeter Seed Library, folllowed by the lively and knowledeable Kim Stoddart, who spoke about the wellbeing that our gardens bring to both us and the natural environment. These talks were sandwiched together by the spring show, which was a blaze of colour.

Prize winners are recognised in the right-hand column next to this post.

At the end of May, we have a talk by the well-loved Richard Bramley of  the award-winning Farmyard Nurseries. He's going to be talking about ponds, whether you're starting one, living with one, or just dreaming of having one! Ponds are so good for the natural environment in your garden. You may not have one the size of Richard's at the nursery, but any small stretch of water in your garden gives added delight to humans and wildlife alike. Richard says: ‘this talk hopefully smoothes the way to maintaining a healthy well-balanced water garden’.

Do come along to enjoy the talk, the raffle prizes and a nice cuppa and biscuit while catching up with other members.

Don't Forget:

Everyone is welcome at our talks, visits, workshops & socials,

so do bring your friends, neighbours and visitors!

Entry: members free – £3.00 visitors. Raffle and refreshments.
